What's in the baaaaaaaaax?!
A mixed assortment of craft items consisting of (but not limited to) any of the following: paper, fabric, stickers, ribbons, beads, buttons, thread, oddments, embellishments and more. The sort of thing you might use for scrapbooking,
The boxes are A4 size (approx 340x220x20mm), and they'll fit through your letterbox. We pack in as much as we can fit.
We select appropriate objects to fit the theme of each box, and each collection is put together individually; no two are the same. There's really no guarantee what you'll get, but when packing your boxes we carefully select things we think you'll love.
Can I make special requests?
Yes! Although we can't guarantee we can meet everything you ask for, if you have a particular request (e.g. I love orange but hate birds!), please do write us a note and we will do our best to make your box perfect for you.
Is it a subscription?
Nope. We love the mystery, surprise and unboxing elements of subscription boxes, but not so much being tied in month after month, forgetting to cancel after the first cheap offer, and getting the themes we don't care for as much. This way you can pick the themes which appeal to you and leave those that don't: less waste, more inspiration!
Where is this stuff from?
Once upon a time there was a queen. She was much beloved in her kingdom and known for her creative spirit and great talent for making clever and beautiful things.
Over the years, the queen collected all sorts of fascinating things for her projects. Each week, she visited the local stores and the market and always came away with a few skeins of wool, stacks of paper or reels of ribbon. Word spread of the queen's love for crafts, and soon visitors came from across the land to offer her their goods. Many of them made gifts of their wares because they knew how much the queen loved them.
The castle had whole rooms dedicated just to the queen's collection, and although the queen was always working on some new project - a dress for the princess, a wall hanging for the throne room, a pair of slippers for her lady-in-waiting - it seemed as if a spell lay upon the collection, for it never seemed to shrink.
Eventually, the princes and princesses all grew up and moved out and the queen decided to move out of her draughty old castle. She chose a beautiful cottage on the edge of a wood, and couldn't wait to move in.
There was just one problem. Her collection had grown so large that there was just nowhere for it to go in her new home.
Sadly, the queen packed the beloved items away, so they were all mixed up in boxes and useless to everybody. They remained there for many years, untidy and unloved.
One day, the queen was gazing regretfully at the collection, when it struck her that she'd likely never be able to make use of everything by herself. All of the beautiful things, so carefully and painstakingly selected, would just go to waste.
And so she came to a decision. She would parcel up the beautiful things and send them on to new homes, so that someone else might do something amazing with them.
